Bear with me, this track isn’t the freshest jam on the street, as it came out at the very end of September, but it is a good track that deserves your attention and listening ears on this Wednesday. Young Hunting are in the business of making chilled out indie rock that would suit their California lifestyle. As you’ll hear from “Blue Dream” below, there’s a lot going on, but all these elements culminate to bring you a graceful and mellowed out tune. The guitar riffs seem to roll in and out like waves lapping on the shore, while the vocals and arching chorus feels like a cool sea breeze. Take a listen and enjoy.
Young Hunting has already shared with us two new songs off their much anticipated new album Hazel due out June 11th on Gold Robot Records. The band creates these beautiful moments full of restraint, but also powerful in the subtle way the pop is delivered on your ears. This new track “Maze” furthers my enjoyment of the band and should get everyone overly excited for the new album. Legit.[audio:http://austintownhall.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/03-Maze.mp3]

It’s that time of year, where students are going home for the summer, while the rest of us wistfully long for such days, hampered by the mundane details of every day life. But, when pop music rears its head, we’re all on the same page, all letting our minds drift gently towards a common sentiment of peace and relaxation. That’s just the sensation I got as I listened to the latest track from Young Hunting, who will be releasing their debut album, Hazel, via Gold Robot Records on June 11th. Pretty sure I can’t find a thing wrong with this track.[audio:http://austintownhall.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/04-Wrecking-Ball.mp3]

There’s a great deal to be said for carefully crafted pop songs, especially the sort that slowly unfolds. Restraint and all that. Such is the feeling you’ll get when you listen to the first single from the upcoming album from Young Hunting. Their track builds towards the climax, which turns listeners on their ears during the chorus, also adding more musical accompaniment to the rest of the track from it’s first bright burst. Each note has a purpose, allowing the band to maximize their emotional pull. You can find the group’s new single on Hazel, their new LP being released by Gold Robot on June 4th. Be sure to follow along carefully.[audio:http://austintownhall.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/08-Babys-First-Steps.mp3]
