New Music From The Hours

UK rock band The Hours have always been on my radar since I caught their live show in 2009 during SXSW.  It’s crazy that I’ve never put up any of their music on the site since then so word of new tunes from the band makes for the right time.  The new song we’ve got streaming below is called “I Want More” and appears on the bands new EP of same name due out November 1st on Adeline Records.  Let us know what ya think.

New Jam From Phantogram

I’m sure many of you heard this new jam from Phantogram over on that poop site P4K, but it’s too good to pass up so I’m posting it up anyway.  The song is called “Don’t Move” and will appear on a new album from the group entitled Nightlife due out November 1st on old school Barsuk Records.  I think it goes without saying that this new jam will be appearing on the set list for the next ATH DJ set.

Fun New Jam from MiniBoone

It’s the middle of the week, and we all could probably use a bit of a pick me up, as that lull begins to creep in.  Well, for those of you with an infatuation for bits of post-punk and old school art rock, you’re going to love this jam from MiniBoone. There’s little intricate moments and there’s all out joyous moments, all which make for a great midweek listen.  You can find this track along with others from the group on November 8th with the release of their MiniBoone Mountain EP, courtesy of the fine folks over at Drug Front Records.

New Jam from Lyonnais

I got this Lyonnais record in the mail a few weeks ago, and I’ve been waiting to share the first single from the band with you.  It’s a bit noisy and gaze-y, if you will, but the melodious moments bring out this internal music that really holds the entire record together.  Speaking of said record, you can pick up Want For Wish For Nowhere on October 18th via Hoss Records.  I promise you that this little gem of a mini-album is not going to let you down.  Please, allow me to introduce you to the wonderful Lyonnais.

New Music from Guineafowl

If you haven’t heard of Guineafowl until now, we’ll forgive you, as we’re just catching onto the band ourselves.  The Australian group is coming to the States to support the release of their Guineafowl EP. The feel of their first US single totally epitomizes my need for high-fueled energy on Wednesday; it’s got bits of stomping, yet I can sort of hear that blissful swoon of the Dears hiding beneath their guitar work lines.  Just sort of imagine blending pieces of eclectic elements with bits of electronic rock, add some swinging chorus lines, and you’ve got this group summed up. Damned if that doesn’t sound like a great bit of fun to me.  Their EP is out now on Dangerbird.

New Tunes from Working For A Nuclear Free City

Manchurian shoegazers, Working For A Nuclear Free City have just posted an epic free download and a new single. Below you can find a free download via the band’s soundcloud page and on their bandcamp page, you can purchase their latest single, Turning Shadow. The former, exhibits snippets of every style in which WFANFC dabbles and the latter, a solid wave of sound reminiscent of their acclaimed and highly underrated debut, Businessmen and Ghosts. It seems details are slowly emerging about the band’s follow-up to last year’s sprawling release, Jojo Burger Tempest.

New Music From Hurricane Bells

It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard from Steve Schiltz and his solo project known as Hurricane Bells.  In my personal opinion, the guy’s 2009 LP Tonight is the Ghost was one of those highly underrated types from that year.  Fast forward to the present, and a new song entitled “Possibilities” has sprung up and shows even more promise from the project.  A sophomore album, Tides and Tales, is said to be out on October 25th

New Track from Body Language

Looking for a fun way to kick off your Monday?  You might have just stumbled to the right place, as this constructionist jam from Body Language has really been doing wonders on my spirits.  It’s got a trickling little melody, with a bit of crafty pep that sort of lurks in and out of your speakers.  This is the sort of thing that gets under your skin/soul, bringing about welcome changes in mood.  If you dig what you’re hearing you can grab this tune, and others, off the band’s upcoming LP, Social Studies, which hits the stores on October 18th.

New Music From Mr. Gnome

I’ll be honest here and say that I had never really come across Cleveland’s Mr. Gnome prior to a few days ago.  Since then, I’ve been enjoying their sort of spastic style indie rock music featured on their upcoming LP Madness in Miniature due out October 25th.  From that new joint, I’ve got their latest single “Bit of Tongue” available for you below so you can see what spastic indie rock sounds like.  Enjoy.
