New Music From Golden Triangle

Hardly Art band Golden Triangle might quite the stir during SXSW… So we have to pay attention to them right?  Right!?  Shortly after their trip to Austin, the band is prepping a highly anticipated split 7″ with Seattle boys The Fresh & Onlys.  That tasty little vinyl is hitting stores today and features this new track from Golden Triangle “Cold Bones”.  I am getting into this tune more than anything I’ve heard from the band so far.  I’ll be buying this one.

New Tunes from The Mary Onettes

Long have I followed the rise of Sweden’s The Mary Onettes.  Ever since I first got a hold of their self-titled debut, I’ve been hooked on their wintery pop sounds.  Their last record, Islands, ran in my stereo for months, and now the band are bringing a new 7″ to us all for Record Store Day.  If you can’t get your hands on one, then you better just get the digital version, as this band continues to impress.  Here’s the new tune titled “The Night Before the Funeral;” it’s one of the best songs I think the band have written to date.

Emo’s on Tuesday night has a nice little lineup of up and coming talent featuring Temper Trap and Kissaway Trail.  Can’t say I’m the biggest fan of TT, but Kissaway Trail got a lot of great buzz behind them during SXSW.  Plus, what else are you really doing on a Tuesday?  And hear ya go ladies, I’m finally posting this Temper Trap song you’ve been begging for.

More New LCD Soundsystem Tunes

Gotta say, that first track “Drunk Girls” we posted from LCD Soundsystem’s upcoming LP wasn’t really doing much for me.  This new jam “I Can Change” is however starting the hype machine back up for Mr. Murphy’s new joint.  It sounds a little like the best material from last effort Sound of Silver; albeit a bit more slowed down.  LCD Soundsystem’s new LP This is Happening will hit stores on May 18th.

New Music From Deer Tick

Easily one of my most overlooked releases from last year would have to be Deer Tick’s indie-country album Born on Flag Day.  Well now the boys are back with new album The Black Dirt Sessions set for release on June 8th via Partisan Records.  Slow burner single from the upcoming record “20 Miles” can be found below.  It’s indicating to me that this band is ready to deliver a much more polished and focused sound.  They all growed up!

Unless you’re currently brain dead, you better be making a point to go see Yeasayer at one of their much anticipated shows this weekend.  Since I am currently gainfully employed with an early wake up time, I’ll be heading out on Saturday.  Now I know some of you people may be gettin’ all hot for that Vampire Weekend show, but let’s be straight here, Yeasayer is a killer live act you can’t pass up.  Be smart.  Opening support on both nights will be provided by buzz band Javelin.  If I haven’t sold you yet, check out their latest single “Ambling Alp” and tell me that doesn’t do it for ya.

New Tunes from Klaus & Kinski

You’ve probably never heard of Klaus & Kinski, and that’s okay, as I don’t really think too many people have.  I’ve been tracking the Spanish group since their last album, and now that they’ve got new tunes coming out on their new record, Tierra, Tragalos , I really wanted to share them with you.  If it weren’t for the fact that the band sings in Spanish, you’d probably find them right alongside a group like The Postmarks.  This song is all about not wanting to college, and you should trust us, as RayRay teaches Spanish.
