So we survived the weekend that was the dillo dirt sludge of ACL and we’re ready to provide a bit of reflections from our experience. We’ll start things off with a quick recap of some of our favorite acts from the festival and who impressed us the most. This is only our list and we based it on our time and taste so let us know if you saw something great we forgot about. Follow the jump for our Top 10 acts of ACL.
So you’re one of those brave souls who just can’t get enough of the heat and music during the day at ACL and you want more? Or maybe you’re just one of those types who skip the festival alltogether and make it out to after parties and after shows? Regardless of what category you fit into, here’s a couple choices for each night of ACL for things to do after the festival activities wind down. Today we focus on some of the lesser known bands of ACL with an interview spotlighting relatively new Brooklyn band Suckers. We spoke to the man simply known as Pan this week via phone to find out a little bit about this new project. Continuing or ACL coverage today, we are excited to bring you an interview with buzz worthy band Passion Pit. These guys have been getting a whole bunch of praise heaped on them from numerous sources and we tend to think they deserve that praise. We recently spoke with Jeff Apruzzese from the band who discusses the hype and buzz surrounding his band. Of course that’s not all we talk about, but you’ll just have to read more to see it all.
A fairly new blog to town, Republic of Austin, just wrote up a little blurb about myself and the ATH website. He also included my picks for this year’s ACL Festival. This is all part of the site’s plan to run features about local bloggers/musical people and their favorite things about ACL. Check it out. Now the internet knows what I look like.. aaaahhhh! Let the ATH ACL festival madness begin! So we’ve started off light with a few spotlights on lesser known ACL artists and now we’re really getting serious with artist interviews. Last year we spoke to some pretty big bands and we hope to reach as many artists as we can this year. To start off our interview series, we have none other than French pop hit makers Phoenix.
