From//October Shares Again + Releases As Time Went By

Dutch songwriter Dion Tiktak has won us over with his carefully crafted pieces for From//October; today you’ll finally get to hear the entirety of the As Time Went By EP. On the latest single, there’s a bit more of a sleepy feel to the craft, which makes sense as the song’s dealing with lost memories and grief. Tiktak still has this comforting curl on his vocal notes, which is something that continues to draw me towards his work. Admittedly, “Somewhere Quiet” is the standout gem on this EP, but be sure to indulge in the whole, as it feels like its truly meant to exist as a collective piece.

Rocker from Nu.mber

You’ve got start Friday off the right way, and I can’t think of a better way to being than with this new tune from Nu.mber. The work is the brainchild of artist Jeff Fribourg, and his love of synthesizers is clearly at play on this tune. The guitars angrily drive the song down the tunnel of your speakers, with a propulsive rhythm section pounding away. But, the layered synths and distorted vocals actually provide a catchy element to the tune. It’s fast, furious and then its over, leaving you to wait until Goodbye, the debut LP, drops via Felte on May 25th.

Sweet Pop from Faith Healer

gottahavefaithThis song’s been floating around for a few days, and I hope you’ve had some time to digest it, but if not, I’ll give you that opportunity once again.  For starters, there’s only a certain sort of person that can pull this off, and my hats off to Faith Healer.  I haven’t come across this sort of indiepop in some time, offering such a strong sound filled with varying parts while still holding true to the style itself.  You could say it sounds huge, and that’s not your everyday indiepop fare, so look for Cosmic Troubles to come your way on March 31st via Mint Records.
