Anthemic Rocker From Avers

unnamed (2)Richmond based rock band Avers caught my ear last month and I’ve been jamming their tunes since then. Today I have for you what might be my favorite song of the band yet with this new single “Insects”. Upon initial listening, I was reminded heavily of indie rockers like Nada Surf. It meanders a bit at first and slowly builds into a truly powerful and anthemic song.

Omega/Whatever is due out July 29th via EggHunt Records.

Straight Rock From Avers

unnamed (2)Richmond based rockers Avers have dropped a few singles recently, but none as high in quality as this new one “Santa Anna”. For starters, I told you guys yesterday that I’d be filling your summer playlist this week and here’s yet another one to add to the list. This one is a summer driving rock n roll song reminiscent of lo-fi indie rock bands like Warm Soda. I just added it to my summer playlist and I recommend you do the same.

Avers will drop Omega/Whatever on July 29th via Egghunt Records.

ACL 2015 WE2 In Pictures: Friday Edition

ACLSo, let’s start with the photo portion of our ACL coverage. I have a confession; I sold my soul to take photos of the Foo Fighters. Yes, I signed a release. If the Foo people read this, please try to keep up to your end of the bargain and leave the watermark for ATH and send a little credit our way “as allowed”. I’ll probably never check if you guys use my pics, but be nice.

The Friday edition of photos starts with Avers and ends with the Foos, Son Little, Royal Blood, London Souls, Albert Hammond Jr., Billy Idol, Run The Jewels and Tame Impala in between.
