Nancy Shares Orange Yellow Orange

I didn’t realize there was so much hype around Nancy, but to an extent, I think there’s at least some reason to get a little buzzed here. Stylistically, this surely falls under the bedroom pop, with even Nancy claiming the song was written during lockdown. I think the bubbling little burst that shines through around the 1:20 marks is really nice, and perhaps playing that up a bit more would have won over tons of folks. Instead, the song pulls back, happy to kind of retreat into its own quiet solitude. This track will feature on Happy Oddities EP, which comes out on August 7th via B3SCI.

Have Fun with Trudy and the Romance

Remember when you could have fun listening to your rock n’ roll? Well, Trudy and the Romance have dropped a new single for just that. A little barbershop quartet opens the song, before they jitterbug their way into your eardrums, shuffling with catchy percussion and a vocal hook that uses a guttural growl to make sure to keep things cool. This UK trio always makes me get out of my seat and rush to turn the speakers up louder; it’s pure fun, and that’s okay. The group are set to release their Junkyard Jazz EP on November 17th via B3SCI.

Soaring Beauty from Over Sands

over-sands-press-photo-2I just wanted something that felt like drifting, something that felt like floating away. Luckily, this Over Sands track sort of carried itself into my inbox, bringing with a huge sound and this twinkling bit of beauty. It’s the sort of tune that drowns out the world around you, clearing your thoughts away…just sink into the track. Be it the electric wash or the airy vocals bursting through your speakers, you’re going to give in to this number. You’ll be able to hear this one on the project’s debut EP, which comes out late November courtesty of B3SCI.

Even More From Beach Baby

Untitled-1Nathan and Nicole have both already posted about up and coming UK band Beach Baby so I figured I better get on this cool kid train before it passes me by.  I’m winning between the three of us though because I’m getting to post what is, in my opinion, the best track of the lot entitled “No Mind No Money”.  From when we first heard the band back in February, I’m seeing an impressive progression here with more grit, power, and energy behind the already beautiful pop sound.  I expect these guys to be blowing up stateside real soon.

Beach Baby’s latest 7″ single with B-side “U R” is available for pre-order right now via B3SCI Records (out June 23rd).
