Wayward Jam from Dumbo Gets Mad

I’m not sure how I feel about the name for Dumbo Gets Mad, but man, I’m really digging this track today.  It’s the sort of slow jam that uses male and female vocals pieces to transport you into the ultimate chill mode.  I like the way the song’s recorded, giving it sort of a casual vibe, yet one that eventually makes its way into your inner soul.  For some reason I’m just gravitating towards tunes built for escapism today; I’m pretty sure I’m cool with that. This tune will be on their upcoming LP, Quantum Leap, which is slated for release next year on Bad Panda Records.

Indian Wells goes Borg-McEnroe

Indian Wells has a track up to download that prominently features sampled sounds of the 1980 Wimbledon Tennis Tournament. I assume 1980 because the name of the track is “Wimbledon 1980”. It takes a bit to get used to the samples, but once the textured and layered soundscape takes over, the song puts out a cooling ambient atmosphere.

While “Wimbledon 1980” gets the interesting song of the day award, I want to feature a favorite song from the Bad Panda released Night Drops. The track maintains the tennis theme in name.

Stream “Duece” below and hit this link to listen to and download “Wimbledon 1980”.

Falcon Lake is Electronic Music (+ Free EP)

Curses! I’ve found myself in a real dreamy mood today, so I was actually rather pleased to hear this instrumental track from Bristol’s Leon Piers, who records under the moniker of Falcon Lake.  He just released his new Drown EP on Bad Panda, and while there are some more subtle tracks on the effort, I’ve found myself really falling in love with this track.  It’s definitely let me find myself drifting all day long, using its pulsing melody to draw me in again and again.  If this is your thing, then you should go HERE and pick up the Drown EP for FREE.

New Music from Berlinist

It’s hard to get a good grip on what’s going on overseas, but our friends over at Bad Panda sent us this sweet new single today from Spanish group Berlinist.  While the band works on their debut, I thought I’d give you a little taste of what we all have in store.  Musically, this is a sparse track, with just a bit of sampled percussive sounds used merely as soft accompaniment from the vocals.  Yet, the song eventually begins to add more depth, and the echoes have that recorded quality as if they were taken in an empty warehouse. It all has an incredible effect when given the right chance, which has us really excited to see what the group comes up with next.
