Broken Baby Drop Make Manager Video

Sometimes you just need a straight rock tune to clear the cobwebs in your brain, something to clean the stress out. Well, if you’re in that boat, turn up this new track and video from Broken Baby; it’s a song that will draw some comparisons to Amyl/Sniffers, particularly in the way the vocals have that biting sharpness that seems to warn the listener to back up…though you could also hear it being a riotous performance in the live setting. Speaking of that live setting, the band have a nice little mini tour going on this week and next with our own ATX friends in Calliope Musicals, coming to Austin on the 16th.

Sound On Sound 2016 Preview: 5 Local Bands To Catch

Not only have the SOS folks put together a stacked bill filled with big time acts from all over the indie world, but they’ve also made sure to stick to their Austin roots by snagging some of the great local acts from around town. Sure, maybe you’ve seen their name on a poster for a show, but now is the time to make sure you show up for their set and give them some love. My Free Week Afterthoughts

freeThere’s still some Free Week activities for you over at Barracuda this week, which you should attend, but the main stretch of Free Week is over. I had a pretty solid time, bouncing all down Red River, catching over 60 great Austin bands (and a few from out of town).
