I’ve been covering Gregor for some time, particularly with the release of his 2018 album, Silver Drop. But, in case you haven’t been in the loop, we will soon get to celebrate the release of Destiny, his new LP for Chapter Music. We reached out to see if he’d be willing to answer a few quick questions and share his favorite recipes, and thankfully, he’s obliged. Read on below…and as you browse, press play on the stream to sample a few of the album tracks. He’s also been so kind as to share a delicious Artichoke Soup recipe!

Gregor Shares Final Single Before Destiny Drops

One of the record’s I’ve really been looking forward to hearing is Gregor‘s new album, Destiny. I just love the craftsmanship of his tracks, particularly from what we’ve heard thus far. For instance, here, it opens with this voice sort of hanging in this sparse musical backdrop. Soon, a beat drops in, swirling with shimmering cymbals and beats to really build this palpable texture that allows Gregor space to offer up his soulful croon. It’s like this magical place where you find trip-hop and lounge music intertwined behind an indie rock curtain. The show must go on, and it looks to be pretty special; Destiny drops on November 13th via Chapter Music.

Gregor Shares Senseless

When listening through Destiny, the latest LP from Gregor, you’ll find that each song seems to take on a life of its own, like you’ll hear in “Senseless.” At first, it’s almost this sort of bewildering pop rock, buzzsaw guitars building a background wall while Gregor’s voice and synths rise to the song’s forefront. But, push the needle just a bit ahead to find that the song’s evolved into this collage of sounds that feel more traditional in their presentation, thought Gregor builds in various textures like violin and loops to sort of create this pop spiderweb that’s likely to catch any music aficionado. If you want to make pop weird again, be sure to order Destiny from Chapter Music; it drops on November 13th.

Gregor Announces Destiny

When I first put on Silver Drop a few years back, I was struck by this powerful new voice, simultaneously heavy and elegant; I’ve been a Gregor fan ever since. Today, a new album has been announced, and we’re teased with a track showcasing exactly what the project brings to the table. Musically, there’s a lush landscape, a realm crafted by deep percussive elements and a warm cloud of atmospheric wash. Enter the steadying voice of Gregor, tying it all together as guitar notes jangle around him; there’s this little moment around the 2:33 moment that really hit me, having this fragility as he pushes his voice, akin to Jarvis. Destiny will be out on November 13th via Chapter Music.

Amazing Indie Pop From School of X

Man it’s been a crazy day in Austin, and I’m hoping to end your day of music with us by offering up something a bit more chill and relaxed to ease you into the afternoon. Imagine that, I have this new song called “Write My Name” from Copenhagen based Rasmus Littauer and his project known as School of X. Currently working as the touring drummer for Major Lazor, one can hear a bit of electronica and beat driven pop here. I’m finding it to be quite irresistible.

School of X will release a new EP entitled Destiny on November 15th via Tambourhinoceros.
