Chilled Electro Pop from Ginla

niglaJust wanted to toss out something that was easy listening to start off the week, and this track from Ginla seems to fit that bill pretty nicely.  It’s a mellow electro-jam with vocals that are all washed out, so you’ll have an easy time just pressing play and relaxing.  Those sort of vibes make it easy to deal with your own personal case of the Mondays, but I think there’s some definite redeemable qualities that go beyond early week listening.  The duo is readying their Dreaming In Circles EP, so look to pick that up in a few weeks if this is your bag.

New Tune From Passenger Peru

Passenger Peru is a banda1224397052_10 that I’m sure many of you know very little about, as I am just now finding out about them today.  The group are a duo hailing from Brooklyn who have been hard at work recording their music over the last year or so anxiously waiting to drop the tunes out to the public.  Today we’re offering up one of the band’s latest tunes called “Heavy Drugs”.  It’s an interesting pop tune that gives us a great chorus that could be labeled as something you might hear from older Rogue Wave or fellow dinosaur loving band Dinosaur Bones.  Definitely give it a few listens and let us know what ya think.

Pre-order the band’s new album now via Fleeting Youth Records (it’s due out January 28th).

Chilled Tune from New Animal

I’m always down to help represent for our friend Rob over at Old Flame Records.  He’s just released this new single from Atlanta’s New Animal, and I’m really digging this lead single.  For a duo, it’s got a real dense feeling to it, with multiple layers, both instrumentally and vocally.  As the song slowly unfolds, the two pile upon more sounds, creating a rather interesting pop collage.  If you like what you hear, you can grab the single from Old Flame, or you can wait a bit, as they plan to release a limited edition tape soon.

Nice New Track from Little Hurricane

Sometimes you get some information on a band, and you’re tempted to look the other way, panning them as just another run of the mill bluesy duo. But, along the way to my dismissal, I just couldn’t escape this track getting stuck in my head. Little Hurricane might have a hell of a lot of swagger in the live setting, but I’m really enjoying the sound on the first single from their album Homewrecker; the album hits on May 1st via Unknown Behavior. There’s something about Tone’s (singer/guitarist) vocals that definitely raise the bar on blues-rock; it’s not that typical country whine.  With Jack White rocking solo, a song like this propels Little Hurricane to the top of the pack.
