Marie Davidson Crafts Herself Some IDM
EDM gets all the hype nowadays, but there are small circles that appreciate the original days where the I replaced the E, making ambient/techno in a smarter, possibly less consumable, manner. On Marie Davidson‘s latest single, it’s clear to me that she’s stepping forward to grab the reins. There’s an immediate propulsion to the tune, though it’s not an out-and-out beat to make the kids pump their fists. Little electronic bleeps burst through while Davidson speaks in French atop her constructed piece. This is the sort of electronic music I can get behind; look out for Un Autre Voyage via Holodeck Records on April 14th.
