New Mirror Travel Music

mirrorsThis Mirror Travel song has been floating around for a few days, and seeing as we’ve followed the band since their Follow That Bird origin, it only makes sense we give it a light of day here. Things sound a little dreamier here, though the guitar still has a similar effect that matches the voice of Laura Green. Listening on repeat, the record seems like it will have a slightly darker, more ethereal manner to it, leaving plenty of room for psychedelic dream states. Look for Cruise Deal to hit on March 11th via Modern Outsider.

More New Music From Mirror Travel

mirrortravelBack in July we dropped some knowledge on you guys that beloved Austin band Follow That Bird had recently changed their name to Mirror Travel and began work on some new material.  Back then we shared with you new track “Mexico”, and today we have another brand spanking new joint called “I Want You to Know” streamable below.  We are yet again treated to some tasty rock n roll on this track with great female driving vocals throughout.  Hope you enjoy this one.

New album Mexico will be available on October 15th via Modern Outsider.

Austin Spotlight: Mirror Travel

mirrortravelThose of you living in Austin, or who picked up the Casual Victim Pile compilation, might be wondering what happened to Follow That Bird.  Well, they opted for a name change, going with Mirror Travel.  This doesn’t mean the band’s sound has changed that much, still churning out rock and roll with a tinge of garage sound pushing things along.  You’ll be able to find this tune on the band’s new record, Mexico, which is being released by Modern Outsider on October 15th of this year.  History points towards a record filled with allusions to the Southwest, and fueled by hard work: can’t get here fast enough.

Chilled Out Tunes from Lauren Green

I’ve really enjoyed the work of Austin band Follow That Bird, so when I found out that Lauren Green was stepping out from the band for a minute to record her own debut EP, Easy Spirits, I was interested to see where her own work would lead her.  Needless to say, I’m really stoked on this whole little EP; it’s got an entirely different feel, but one that you’ll definitely enjoy.
