One of our favorite acts during SXSW, Golden Animals, are returning to Austin for a night of psych rock at Beauty Bar on Wednesday. Fellow “Golden” act All in the Golden Afternoon will be providing opening support for the event. Cover charge is $5.

We took loads of photos during SXSW and wanted to share just a few of the better ones with you. We had some camera trouble during the week so we didn’t get everywhere we wanted to be, but we hope you like the shots we made out with. Is anyone else just a little bit sad today as we wrap up another amazing SXSW Festival in Austin? I know we here at ATH are as depressed as anyone to head back into the real world today. Gone are the carefree days of roaming around downtown in search of the best music and the best parties with free red bull and vodka. While still nursing our hangovers and mending our bruises, we would like to share with you the best live acts that we caught this past week. You may have heard of most of these bands or they may be completely new to you, but regardless, these bands brought the noise at SXSW. We tried to be fair and pick the acts that either lived up to a certain hype or just rocked our faces to the floor. Follow the jump for our top 10 live acts of SXSW.
Southern California rockers, The Golden Animals, have been busy recently making appearances in the Woxy studios as well as the Minnesota Public Radio studios. Both sessions feature 3 songs from the band’s debut LP Free Your Mind and Win a Pony. The Woxy session has a little added bonus with previously unreleased track “Call my name”. Denton’s finest, The Golden Animals, are making a stop in Austin this afternoon/evening. First off, the band plans on playing a free instore at Cheapo Discs at 5pm. Later in the day, stop by Beerland to catch a full on live set by the band. Beerland tickets will be sold only at the door.
