Circling Back on Swearing At Motorists
It’s been nearly ten year since we heard anything from Ohio duo Swearing at Motorists, and perhaps that’s due to moves and changes in the lives of the core members. Fortunately, they’ve signed up with BB Island to reissue the great While Laughing, the Joker Tells the Truth, dropping real soon. And, in case you missed the record on the first go round, they’re reminding the masses with this great track that will have you wondering why you didn’t grab the LP on its first go round. Personally, the little uptick in energy around the 33 second mark is the perfect way to move the song into a great bit of solid indie rock; the vocal performance that carries on from there, too, seems like it’s telling a story of a great record that didn’t get nearly enough attention.
