Holy Fuck Release New Track

I had a super late night…not for partying but for you know, life and stuff. But, I woke up to this hot new track from Holy Fuck, who haven’t done anything official in several years. The pulsing electronica, the participation of Alexis Taylor (of Hot Chip) and the overall energy it provided make this tune well worth your morning listening. Just turn it up real loud, let that throbbing hook just jump right into your life and lift your spirits. Just feels like you could all use a real sweet jam to get your day going…and if you jump to the Spotify page, there’s a longer version from the band, but let’s go with the radio edit this round, eh?

Enjoy This New Dusted Tune

While Brian Borcherdt is probably best known as part of Holy Fuck, I’m really excited for the release of his new side project, Dusted. This song had me from the get-go, utilizing a steady percussive stomp, almost a march to keep the pace. Guitars ring out in the thick of the mix with little flourishes of keys and what nots rounding out the tune. Seemingly simple, its brevity keeps you from finding yourself bored…and interestingly, the tune closes with the same lyrical line “there’s no ledge to coax you from.” Blackout Summer is the new LP, dropping April 6th via Polyvinyl.

Another New Tune from SAVAK

SAVAK-BestOfLuck-cvr-3690x3690-768x768Touting members from Obits, Holy Fuck and Nation of Ulysses is just one of the reasons SAVAK has got my attention, but I think this brand new single has reallysolidified meon their sound as a whole. While some of those acts have a heavier hand, I like the way this track takes sort of a jittery stomp throughout, occasionally fueled by handclaps. Based on the vocals alone, I think it’s going tograb some ears and wonder why we haven’t been listening to these guys all along. Look for their debut Best of Luck in Future Endeavors on May 27th.

Here’s That New SAVAK Song

SAVAK-BestOfLuck-cvr-3690x3690-768x768With former members of the Obits and Holy Fuck you might be led to think of this song in a certain genre, but what really got me was how SAVAKlook back at great British pub rock; you’ll definitely hear some of that influence lurking in this single. It’s an old sound, revamped to fit into the modern landscape, landing somewhere between Nada Surf and Ted Leo. Their debut album, Best of Luck in Future Endeavors, will be released on May 27th, with a handful of SXSW shows also thrown in the mix for those attending the fest.

New Music From Ki: Theory

So if Nathan’s gonna post electronic dance tunes, I’m also taking this chance to post my very own pop jams.  This song “Holiday Heart”, coming from producer man Ki: Theory, features a sweet dance beat that’s sure to get your feet moving.  Apparently the jam is just meant as a one off single with a B side also involved featuring a remix collaboration with Holy Fuck.  Well done sir.
