90s Rock from LA Font

lafontLike a lot of music fans, the 90salternative guitar sound holds a special place in my heart; this is where LA Font got me. The track starts off carefully, with a guitar ringing carefully in the far off distance. It’s filled in over time with a repeatable hook that’s built into the chorus, and never seems to fade away. There’s similarities between acts like The Wrens, though this tune has a little bit more polish than some of those tunes. You’ll be able to hear more promising numbers when the band releases Swish 2 on September 16th via New Professor Music.

Even More New Music From LA Font

LA-FONT-4Our local friends Fleeting Youth Records continue to put out some really great music from a slew of promising young bands.   One of those bands full of promise is L.A. based pop rock group L.A. Font.  Now we already shared new song “Whisperer” just a few weeks ago and today I’m excited to be sharing with you a second new joint called “Outside”.  One again, the band gives us a rock n rollin number that no one could deny is a stellar tune.

Another Fun LA Font Tune

LA FONT 4Just a short while ago we brought you one of the tunes from LA Font, offering you a glimpse at their oddly structured guitar pop, and today we’ve got another one for you.  My ears hear classic sounds of 90s alternative, at least in the way the hooks are built and the chords ring out.  One of the things I like about the group is that they seem to have this strange approach to songwriting, often times slinking their way through tracks, or purposefully stuttering in the song’s progression.  It’s different, yet still has this catchy quality to it.  Look to hear more such sounds on the band’s Hangtime Volume 1 EP, which hits on April 28th via Fleeting Youth Records.

LA Font Give Us Another Pop Hit

10406948_10152134894997105_6681775348872287450_nLA Font is a great band from Los Angeles that has received several pieces of positive praise on our website.  Their tunes are easy to get into as the band effortlessly creates rock songs with a ton of pop sensibilities to keep you paying attention.  This new jam called “Pretty in Love” is yet another superb effort from the band.  Enjoy.

LA Font have a double album entitled The American Leagues & Diving Man due out on October 13th via Austin’s own Fleeting Youth Records.

New Indie Rock From LA Font

0001038906_20I’m really into this new song called “Diving Man” from aptly named L.A. based band LA Font.  It’s a catchy tune that could be likened to indie pop bands like newer Arctic Monkeys or even fellow Cali bands like Foreign Born.  It’s fairly simple, and I like that in this overdone music world we live in nowadays.

Check out new album Diving Man due out November 19th on New Professor.
