Crocodiles Share Love Beyond the Grave Video

We used to cover Crocodiles quite a bit when the band first hit back in the late 00s, but I’ll be honest, I kind of just got caught up in the shiny new toys. But, when I heard this new track, I couldn’t help but be excited for the band and their forthcoming LP on Lolipop Records. It’s the sort of furious and bratty punk meets pop that I really love; it’s got a driving rhythm, gritty guitars running fast, and all of it with a big swelling hook that keeps you coming back for more. Felt like this was the perfect Monday morning energy all of you need today! Their new album Upside Down in Heaven will be out on April 7th.

Stream New EP From Astrologer

Andrew Cameron Cline is an LA based musician who created his recording moniker Astrologer roughly a year ago to seek out new pop music adventures. After working on some material off and on over the last year, Cline has a new, 6 song EP entitled Ledgermain (L) coming out tomorrow via Lolipop Records. Just ahead of the release, we’re pleased to offer a little sneak peak of the EP with this exclusive stream of all 6 songs below. The EP has an overall fuzzy pop focus with inspirations from eras like 60s garage pop mixed with more modern psych influences like Fuzz or Ty Segall. It’s fun as hell.

Still on My So Many Wizards Kick

Friday So Many Wizards their latest album, as well as a new single, and since I’m super stoked on the release, I figured I’d give them a nod again. This track has a rumbling jangle working beneath the mix, kicking up the energy. Then midway through, they calm things down to bring about a little respite, offering a nice dreamy vocal that rides the tune all the way to the end. If this is your style, you’re in luck, as you can find this jam and more on their stellar new LP, Heavy Vision, which just dropped via Lolipop Records.

More Music from So Many Wizards

So Many Wizards are one of those bands that you should love, but you might accidentally skip, so I’m beggin you not to do that. They’re brandishing spirited pop music, fueled by infectious harmonizing and driving rhythms; it sounds like a the sort of stuff you’d hear off of Slumberland Records. Try to not tap your toes as the drums bounce and the delivery of vocals comes quick through your speakers…so quick in fact that it almost loses control. Their latest effort, Heavy Vision, is set to be released by Lolipop Records on April 14th.

Still More from Ablebody

ablebodyYou know we love Ablebody, in fact, I’m pretty sure we’ve been covering the band for some time, even before we started hyping their new release, Adult Contemporaries. Today, that album is released into the world via Lolipop, so why not offer up another one of the album’s excellent tunes for you to absorb today. You’ll find yourself transported back to the times when R&B began to clash with electronic elements, using twinkling synths and riffs to accent each note of the crooned vocals. It’s one of those songs where we get to marvel at how the uncool has cycled back and made everything cool once again…plus, it’s a jam too! Grab the LP in your local shoppe today!

Another Day, Another Hit from Ablebody

ableThe Hochheim brothers have honed their chops for quite some time, be it in their own projects or working in PoBPaH, so you know they’ve got the songwriting capabilities to make their latest band, Ablebody, a winner. I love the sound on the newest single, feeling vital to the current musical landscape while taking a lick or two from the darkened club hits of the 80s. Plus, it’s accompanied by a great video that you can check out HERE. The band will be releasing their debut full length, Adult Contemporaries, via Lolipop Records on October 14th.

Huge Hooks from Fatal Jamz

fataljamzFridays are for fun, and in that search for music to coincide with your good times, you should include this Fatal Jamz track. It’s almost like a blend of 80s club hits, smashing against power pop; there’s a synthetic bounce to the track, and that vocal hook is something so delicious that I can’t turn it off! This tune appears on the band’s new album, Coverboy, which looks to be a rather playful effort you can put on repeat; it’ll be released by Lolipop Records on September 30th.

Good to Hear Ablebody Back

Through various years of running this site, we’ve been fortunate to meet some great people, including the Hochheim twins. They just put up a new video for their Ablebody project, with the news that the song will be part of Adult Contemporaries, the band’s first LP. This song’s got those sharp guitar stabs that us indiepop fans adore, cool airy vocals and a light-hearted energy, immediately getting in my daily music rotation. Enjoy the song’s accompanying video below, and look for the new LP on October 14th via Lolipop Records.

SXSW Interviews: Adult Books

adultsAs usual, SXSW has slowly inched ever closer without me feeling like I’m fully prepared just yet. I of course have time and will be working to get myself game ready. We here at ATH also want to get you ready with some exposure to bands coming to town who we feel are worth your time. Today I continue that preparation process with an interview from Cali based Adult Books. Nathan and I both have been loving the band’s new album Running from the Blows (out March 4th on Lolipop Records), so we were both excited for this one. Follow the jump for more.

More Great Pop from Adult Books

adultsWe’ve got two great announcements! One, Adult Books will be appearing at our ATH Takes Over Nomad Party on March 15th (at the Nomad). Two, the band has another great single to share with you. Honestly, this is one of my favorite new pop acts, and Running from the Blowsis great, from first track to the last. There’s a little bit of a bounce in this track, and just the slightest wash on the vocals, all swept high into your ears by a delightful synth line. Pretty sure that March 4th can’t come soon enough for you, or us for that matter. Look for the LP via Lolipop and Burger Records.
