Vern Matz Offer New Single

The New Haven based duo of Daniel Belgrad and Michael Lituchy, musically known as Vern Matz, have been dropping multiple singles this Spring in anticipation of a new album coming out later this year on Nice Guy Records. One of those singles, “Funny Water”, is definitely one a suggest you check out if you’re into a sort of folk inspired, indie rock sound. Think Jackson Browne meets Wilco with a little bit of dream pop thrown in there to create something truly stunning. Stay tuned for more tunes coming our way soon from Vern Matz.

Stray Fossa Share Diving Line Single

With the release of their album about a week away, I wanted to point you all in the direction of Stray Fossa one last time. They release With You For Ever next Friday, and while I’ve offered you other singles, this one might just do the trick, right? Slowly trickling in, tiptoeing with a light strum and feathery voice, the song soon drops in from dreamscape to more texturized indie sound before launching off into their chilled pop room where we can all get lost. I loved the intermission, grooving and a touch more emphatic, giving the song that special bop that makes the kids swoon. Trust me, this is solid solid pop! Look for With You For Ever next Friday.

Stray Fossa Share How Come

Please file Stray Fossa‘s debut LP away in the category for “Nathan’s Most Anticipated in 2021.” It’s not hard to tell why I love this, as the track has this incredible rhythm bubbling beneath the shimmering shoegaze licks from the get go; it even take a nice bit building the tension in the first minute, seductively whisking you into the song. From there, the vocals have a nice soft edge to them too, letting the final syllables evaporate into the air. And, just as you have it all figured out, the back end has some solo flute work and a more emphatic vocal that puts the finishing touches on the tune. Their debut LP will be out in April courtesy of Nice Guy Records.
