Last Week’s Jams, Today (7.18 – 7.22)

We got back to being super busy last week, with RayRay premiering that new No Win jam, plus a bunch of other new stuff that we were stoked to dive into. Good to see Free Time and Laura Jean back with new stuff, not to mention a little local love from the likes of First Names and Twain (he lives here!). All in all, its a bunch of stuff, all over the place musically, just like we do, so hopefully this kicks your Monday into gear!

Premiere: No Win Release Hit The Line

Danny Noguieras is an LA based songwriter, engineer, and producer who has spent years touring with indie bands and recording big names like Built to Spill, Together Pangea, Little Joy, and The Regrettes. Though much of his career has been spent supporting the songwriting of others, Noguieras has also quietly spent time creating tunes under his own project No Win. Now it’s sort of a solo project, but his new album also features some friends he brought along the way to collaborate on the production of No Win’s new LP Dodger Stadium (Jeff Enzor & David Jerkovich are both heavily involved). As we anticipate the August 19th release date, have yourself a listen to new single “Hit the Line” and soak in the carefree, indie rock meets pop vibes. You’ll be glad you did.

Pre-orders for No Win’s new album Dodger Stadium are live now via Dangerbird Records.

New Video From No Win

We’ve been giving out some love to No Win this year, so why not stop now? The band’s got a new video for their track, “Crooked Heart,” which you can check out below. In store for you is a strange trip in a car, with the driver being someone donning the classic nun getup. I’m not really sure what’s going on here, but it seems like waking up from a bender sort of experience. Regardless, the track is a great alt-rock tune, with distorted guitars and soft vocals. Take a peek below.

Pop Rocker from No Win

I ran down a crazy worm hole of pop punk yesterday thanks to a friend, and then this No Win single came my way, fitting perfectly into my day. He got some help from his friends in FIDLAR to craft a bunch of songs for Dangerbird Records Microdose Project, so don’t turn away before jamming this song. There a youthful vibe in the lyrical content, even nodding to the scribbling of notes (doesn’t everyone know the kids use Snapchat nowadays). Sometimes the bullshit just doesn’t mean much, but the good songs survive it all. Give a listen.

Enjoy This New No Win Track

Man Dangerbird Records is easily one of our favorite indie labels here in the good ‘ol USA. They’ve got old favorites like The Dears, newbies like Slothrust, and even some solid locals like A. Sinclair and Ume. They kill it. As they continue their hit parade, the label just sent over this killer new track called “Crooked Heart”from Danny Noguieras’ new project No Win. The single is part of a new monthly single release series from Dangerbird called MICRODOSE. Each month the label will release an A-side/B-side single with a live release show in L.A.
