Hip New Tune From Attawalpa

Though you might not be familiar with the artist name Attawalpa, I am somewhat positive that you are aware of the man behind the name, Luis Felber, from his work as a guitarist for Jamie T or as a founding member of Young Turks Records. Know him or not, Felber is likely to become more of a household name if he continues to release memorable tunes like this one called “Please Take Care”. It sort of starts in this sultry, dark tone similar to something you might hear from Nick Cave, but then adds in these lovely little pop numbers to offer tons of catchy, soft pop moments. I suggest you check it out this afternoon.

This track will appear on a new EP entitled Patterns, due out on July 2nd.

Zachman Share Outsiders Video

Earlier on in the year, Zachman released their latest EP, Patterns; it was a collection of four songs that showed the band pushing themselves to expand into their various musical tastes. For me, I love Johnny Zachman’s voice; it has this faint Ben Gibbard vibe that makes it constantly feel like home when you’re listening…as is the case in this tune “Outsiders.” Still, their music isn’t exactly an homage, there’s a harshness and exploration within the confines of the tune, like what occurs at the 50 (and 1:56) second mark. They’ve also outdone themselves with the video treatment here, building a storyline to match the music made entirely of ads from drive-in movies. Be sure to check out the whole EP HERE.

Impressive New Single From ARMS

13100819_10154095561593328_1209908726262583798_nSomehow through my terrible absent mindedness I’ve missed the boat on some new singles from Brooklyn based Todd Goldstein and his new project known as ARMS. Now some of you may recognize Todd’s name as he used to play guitar and write some songs in now disbanded Brooklyn band Harlem Shakes. Already knowing his way around a pop song or two, Todd started making some music on his own and has released quite a few singles in anticipation of a new album. His most recent single, “Missing”, can be found below. It’s a nice bit of pop music that meanders a little bit as it builds toward an explosive and fist pump worthy finale. I thought you might enjoy.

Patterns will be out on June 3rd via Paper Garden Records.
