Dumb Deliver One More Single

There’s a brand of rock n’ roll that’s delivered sharp and quick, contrasting with the way vocals are delivered. Dumb are another act in the purveyors of said genre, with Parquet Courts and Omni springing to mind for comparison. The latest track from the Vancouver act is short, sweet and extremely rewarding; it’s got a jagged rushing guitar and this casual indifference in the manner the lyrics come across. They’ve got Seeing Green coming your way via Mint Records on June 22nd; it’s going to be a rush of enthusiastic rock n’ roll destined for your collection.

Dumb Release Second Single

I’m personally really excited about the forthcoming Dumb LP, and while I loved the first single, this second one is so ridiculously good that I can’t help but play it on repeat. It shuffles in with this almost skittering version of “Birthday,” but then it unfold into this furious beast that won’t let go of you. Lyrics are delivered in a barrage, emphatically reinforced by pounding blasts of percussion and guitars; the vocals then take a sort of art-punk turn, giving into an almost spoken-word manner whilst the tension builds behind. I just want you to groove to this track all day! Look for Seeing Green courtesy of Mint Records on June 22nd.

New Music from Dumb

While I’m obviously partial to Austin band, Dumb, this great tune is actually from a Vancouver act of the same name. This Dumb employ a jagged stutter in their guitar work, with frantic bass work that’s reminiscent of acts in the vein of Omni. It’s a bouncing good time with a certain indifference in the vocal delivery, even including a nice little noisy guitar solo along the way to the song’s finish line. It all sounds to me like great bits of art-punk where tight guitar lines cut the rug with nerdy lyrical lines; look forward to the band’s new Seeing Green LP, which drops on June 22nd via Mint Records.
