Sinkane Gives Us Another Hit

DSC02918_zpsbb8fd4feExperimental pop artist Sinkane has long been a personal favorite of mine ever since he split out on his own after working for countless indie acts in the studio.  Though he was a bit quiet for awhile, new music has been dropping left and right this summer.  I’ve yet to share any of that material with you for whatever reason, but today let’s take a second to jam to this new track “New Name”.  As with many songs by Sinkane, you’re going to get some experimental pop music with a heavy focus on the almost tribal rhythm section.  His prior work with Yeasayer clearly comes through a little bit here too and I have no issue with that.

Pick up new album, Mean Love, on September 2nd via DFA Records.

New Dance Jam From Sinkane

A couple months ago, we brought you a psych dance type of jam from SINKANE called “Jeeper Creeper”.  Well today we’ve got another song “Runnin” that invokes similar trippy dance feelings.  The song appears on a new album from the one time Yeasayer member entitled Mars which does not yet have a release date.

New Music From Sinkane

Sinkane is the musical project of Yeasayer multi instumentalist Ahmed Gallab.  Gallab actually has been doing his thing under this moniker and touring with bands like Of Montreal and Caribou for a good bit longer than he’s been with Yeasayer, just joining up with them prior to the Odd Blood recordings.  This new song under the Sinkane name is called “Jeeper Creeper” and will appear on a new album entitled Mars which does not have a release date at this point.  What I first hear in the song is a familiar sound similar to the sonic qualities of Odd Blood with that mellow psych feel and soothing repetitive beats. Fans of the style should stay tuned here as I’m sure we’ll shoot you more details as we receive them.  In the meantime, say hi to Sinkane on Twitter or over on Facebook.
