Dadabe Share Paz Single

Having been mostly quiet since their debut EP, Spain’s Dadabe have dropped a couple of rad singles for the world to taste this past month, with me just now catching the latest. I’m pretty sure anyone who loved Pavement will immediately feel at home with this new single; it has that slacker style (or so they called it), offering burning riffs and a relaxed vocal feel through the verses. But, when that does switch in the chorus, there’s this brightness that bursts through, shimmering with promise. Then, as if they had more to prove, they close it down with a minute of jam, hoping to keep you coming back; I know I will.

Slacker Rock From Landlines

As we ease into the weekend, I’m looking for some songs to relax to before the impending stress of football season sets in. Well I had to look no further when the guys in Landlines sent me their latest single “Some Ocean or Great Lake”. The Portland outfit remind me quite a bit of early Weezer if they somehow managed to be even more chill and lackadaisical. This is slacker rock at its finest.

Landlines have a new self-titled LP coming out physical on September 28th. Pre-order here.

You Should Listen to Caracara

After checking some things on the interwebs, I found this nice new tune called “Revelatory” from Philadelphia based group Caracara. To me, the song begins as a sort of slacker rock, grunge type of tune but then slowly builds into a huge, guitar smashing finish. So while many of you may not know the band, I suggest you check out their impressive new single below. A full album of material is coming later this year.
