Sweet Serenades Return

Martin Norvdall is a guy who has been through a lot over his musical career and his time growing the name of his musical project known as Sweet Serenades. What was once a duo/group who played decent sized venues with songs in major TV shows, suddenly changed direction into a one man last year with the release of the highly underrated LP City Lights. Norvdall has certainly pivoted from the more indie rock vibe he started with and turned into a more dream pop focused sound which is highlighted particularly well on this new single “Go Go Go (Forever Young)”. For me, I think this could be the start of some truly great things in the future for the hard working artist. Enjoy this one now and be ready for more new tunes coming soon!

Electro-Pop Number From The Sweet Serenades

I’ve been plugging away about Sweden based The Sweet Serenades for almost as long as our website has been around. During that time, the band has evolved and changed direction several times while still managing to keep me interested and engaged. Now the band has become a one man band of Martin Nordvall with founding member Mathias Nslund departing the duo in 2014. With that loss, the band has once again evolved to feature a more electronic, atmospheric sound, as evidenced by this new single “City Lights”. It’s definitely more focused on the electronic, pop side of things though still catchy and slow dance inducing just like some of the old favorites that first drew me to this band. For me, it seems like a natural progression to arrive at this more mature sound after years pumping out great music.

The Sweet Serenades just released new album City Lights last week. Orders for the album are up here.

Great New Track From The Sweet Serenades

the-sweet-serenadesSwedish band The Sweet Serenades is a group that I’ve been following over the last few years and have never really understood why they don’t have more of a following here stateside.  If I had to guess, I’d say that maybe the songs aren’t quite edgy enough, or maybe the sound wouldn’t be considered that “unique”.  I personally think that’s a great thing, because to me, simple and straightforward pop music can sometimes be a welcome and fresh sound in our constantly contemplative and over analyzed indie music scene.  Great pop music is just great pop music in the end.  I think this new jam “Take it All” is yet another great and simple pop number from a band that has been pumping out tunes like this for over 3 years.  Don’t over think it, just enjoy some quality music.

Check out new album, Stand By Me, on November 15th.

Even More New Music From Sweet Serenades

I’ve been following Swedish based pop band Sweet Serenades for a few years now and I’ve always enjoyed their fresh style of pop music with a certain Scandinavian raw twist.  Saving you from another biography of the band, I just wanted to share this new track they recently sent my way called “Run (Run Run)”.  It’s just been pointed out to me that the song is sort of reminiscent of a certain Austin band Built by Snow and I think I’m cool with that comparison.  This song appears on the band’s new album Help Me! which is out now and available for purchase via Leon Records.

More New Music From Sweet Serenades

Only a few months ago, I posted a new song by Swedish outfit Sweet Serenades after having not heard from them in quite a long time.  I was excited about that song, but this new jam “After All the Violence” is  easily my favorite song the band has ever put out.  It features some tasty dual vocal duties from Karolina Komstedt of indie pop band Club 8.  This song appears on a new album by the band, Help Me!, which is currently out on Leon Records and can by purchased digitally via iTunes.

New Jamz From Sweet Serenades

It seems like ages since I’ve heard anything from Swedish indie-pop band Sweet Serenades.  A couple of years ago I posted a track by them “Die Young” and never really heard much from the band after that.  Today my inbox surprised with this new tune by the band “Can’t Get Enough” that’s a short and sweet pop number with some major bass heavy backing vocals during the chorus.  The group also has a new album coming out entitled HELP ME! coming out September 15th on Leon Records.

New Single From Sweet Serenades

This incredibly poppy little number from Swedish band The Sweet Serenades has been creating quite the positive buzz around the interwebs.  The song appears on the bands debut LP Balcony Cigarettes, which is currently only available via digital download on itunes in the US (physical release stateside coming soon).  You can also check out a quirky video of the new song via youtube.  I digs.

Update: After the song popped up on our radio, my mother informs me that the song was on a recent episode of Grey’s Anatomy. We’re going mainstream!
