Have Fun With Team Spirit

team-spirit-killing-time-flatWhen your Monday just got you down, why not introduce a little pop punk music into your life to brighten what could be a dreary Tuesday?  Brooklyn based band Team Spirit can provide the perfect music for this mood with their new track “Surrender”.  It’s a an easy to like track with it’s rockin’ power chords and fun vocals to boot.  I’m already enjoying the day twice as much as I was before.

Pick up new album, Killing Time, via Vice on September 30th.

Great Old Song from Montero

It’s been pouring in Austin since yesterday, so I’m really happy that this song fits in perfectly with the weather.  To continue with my adoration of all things Oceanic, I’d like to reintroduce you to Montero…the project of Ben Montero (also featuring Guy of Chapter Music and Geoff of Crayon Fields).  At first, you’d think I’m just plugging my friends, and yea, I am, but this songs too great not to put it back on people’s radars.  This song comes from a 7″ they put out last year on Mistletone, and VICE caught wind of the band and made up THIS little mini-documentary.  I guess there’s never a bad time to listen to a good song, so enjoy this one friends; I do this for you all.

New Song from Black Lips

I feel like its really been awhile since I’ve really jammed out to Black Lips, but as the day draws closer to the release of their new record, I find myself revisiting their solid catalog.  The band’s new album, Arabia Mountain, comes out on Vice on June 7th, and so far it sounds pretty promising.  Today they released a new track, aptly titled “New Direction,” and the song is definitely a step towards something different.  For me, the first thing I notice is that the production is much cleaner, and the band seem less like a bunch of punk rabble-rousers. A little bit of focus and things guys could be killer. Personally, I’m finally seeing that Georgia punk sound in their music, and I dig it.
