Introducing: Trumpeter Swan

Trumepter Swan is the brand spanking new project from former What Made Milwaukee Famous keyboardist/guitar player Drew Patrizi.  The endeavor is basically a solo project from Patrizi with a few of his friends brought on board to help record debut album Listen for the Clues.  Throughout that new album, you’ll hear a pop-rock sound similar to the stylings that WMMF were known for.  Expanding on that though, Patrizi has created his own new voice in the genre and created a beautiful album chock full of pop ballads.  You can buy the new album online now and check back for shipping dates.  Digital downloads for purchase will be available soon.

101x is putting on another Homegrown live at Scoot Inn on Wednesday and features What Made Milwaukee Famous front-man Michael Kingcaid performing with The Motts.  Fellow locals TV Torso and Western Ghost House will be joining in for support.  Sorry for the lack of info on door times and price, but I tried my best.  I LOVE it when no one seems to know shit about an event put on by a big local radio station.  Seriously.  Anyone have more details?

Austin A2W: Quiet Company

streetgangcloseQuiet Company is an Austin band led by native Taylor Glen Muse who has been in and out of countless bands over the last several years. After stints in an early form of Eisley and The Connotations, Mr. Muse moved on to record an album mostly on his own under the moniker Quiet Company. That first record, Shine Honesty, received a mostly positive response from critics which lead to new members and a brand new band. Fast forward to 2009 which sees Quiet Company dropping their sophomore effort Everyone You Love Will Be Happy Soon and extensive US touring in the works. To quote the band directly, expect songs that “will you make you fall in love with life and then just as quickly challenge everything you know about it”. That sounds like a sweet deal to me. You can catch Quiet Company in town July 31st at Antone’s opening up for What Made Milwaukee Famous.  If you dig their sounds, check out their band camp for a full album stream, download a free 3 song sampler or say hi to them on twitter.
