Alien Eyelid Share Where Elgin Bends

Alien Eyelid is a band made up of Texas music veterans from various genres, but the more we get to hear from their debut LP, the more I’m totally enamored by their performance. This new single has these sparkling tones, playing upon the fascination with Western sounds, but there’s something far more elegant in the craft; the arrangements add these delicate touches that bend in and out of the tune, creating this depth that sets up the vocals. I won’t lie, I nearly cried when I hit that chorus, especially as it has that special set up from the vocals in the verse, then drops into this brilliant bit of cuddly warmth. Can’t say enough great things about this song, or this album; Bronze Star is out this Friday.

Alien Eyelid Announce Bronze Star

There are a lot of records that people will define as a purely Texan sound, but having been born and raised in these here parts, sometimes a tune just clicks with you, just feels wholly Texan. That said, Alien Eyelid aren’t aiming to be purely Texan I’m sure, though that bleeds through the band’s work in this new single. There’s a matter-of-fact delivery, which recalls any number of Texas songwriters, with something in the guitars feeling like they’re fueled by the slow-burning embers of a friendly campfire amongst friends; it’s a warm sound that feels familiar and ever-present. The band will release Bronze Star on May 5th via Tall Texan.
