New Onyon Tune for You

We’ve covered all the Onyon jams from Last Days on Earth, so it seems only fitting that we add another of their singles to our coverage, mostly so I can have it in my weekly playlist. This track seems like the sort of tune that could drive the crowd into a frenzy in the live setting; it’s employing these stabbing guitar rhythms that tear through your speakers. The vocals almost work with a pogo stick, bouncing in your ears while the angular nature sets your feet afire. Frantically, you try to keep pace, only to realize, you’re whole body’s spinning maniacally with joy. Last Days on Earth hits on October 13th via Trouble In Mind.

Another Onyon Single from Trouble in Mind

Officially dropping on Friday, but appearing here today, this great new Onyon track is a must have for everyone’s listening pleasure. In contrast to the dark nature of “Alien Alien,” we find a bit more of a spirited punch to the opening minutes of “Egg Machine.” There’s this upswinging garage guitar work that kicks the tune into movement, driving this hook-laden rhythm right into your earholes. Still, as willing as they are to get a little playful inside their songs, there’s still a hearty growl on the vocals that give the German outfit that edge that makes them standout from many a modern peer. Last Days on Earth drops on October 13th via Trouble in Mind.

Onyon Announce Last Days on Earth

If you’ve not got German band Onyon on your radar yet, might I suggest traveling back in time to revisit their self-titled debut from 2022. If you’re already hip to it, or just looking for something new, Trouble in Mind Records just announced a fresh LP is coming from the group in October. Personally, I love the way the song sort of hits you with these thumping drum beats and this warbling wayward guitar line; the guitar line continues while another more angular note rings in, adding to the tension as the track seems to pogo about in your brain. When the vocals first enter, they do so in this cavernous mode, creating this ominous feel that pervades due to the growling bass line. As the track progresses, there’s a little more emphasis hitting, with the vocals almost operating as a call and response to the musical textures bounding in your ears. If you’re into cool vibes, then check out this ripper; Last Days on Earth is out October 13th.
