Another Rocker from Vaguess

We’re pushing towards the weekend, so you need something energetic to pick up the pace and get you there…especially if you hit the town last night. I’ve written about Vaguess before, and while there first single was an energetic burst of noisy rock, this one has a whole lot more hook to it, though it’s equally as short. I like the fact that they’re mixing up the sounds slightly, which should make Guilt Ring steer clear of falling in the trap of redundancy. The album is being released by Sinderlyn next week, March 3rd to be exact. Bring me those rocking hooks!

Vaguess Announce New Album

Feel like I’ve ignored some of the more rocking tunes coming my way as of late; it’s been more of a subdued month. But, this Vaguess tune caught my ear almost immediately. Drums roll in from the get-go, with the guitar squealing through the amplifiers. The vocals jump out, taking on that spastic tone you’d expect from the likes of Parquet Courts, only with a little bit more of a guttural note to them. Then, with a wall of huge noise, the song’s over…and, sure, I’d love more, but this song is just enough to make us beg for more. We’ll get precisely that when they unleash Guilt Ring on March 3rd via Sinderlyn.

Classic Punk From Vaguess

vaguessOh man, you know it’s a good track when you get shade from Nathan for beating him to post it. Vaguess (pronounced Vegas) is the moniker of this project from Vinny Vaguess, andĀ the best punk rock band out of the L.A area that you haven’t heard yet. On the cusp of releasing a compilation of the best tracks from their series of cassette tapes, Vaguess has done you the favor of making the lo-fi grit and gristle accessible to you, and once you’re done listening to “Danny’s Park” below, you’ll surely go show your appreciation by preordering the Bodhi Collection hereĀ . What’s not to love about the gang vocals, rambunctiously tinny percussion, and twangy electric guitars?
