Last Week’s Jams, Today (10.17 – 10.21)

In a week where tons was going on, we hit it fairly harder than I remember. We ran a preview of Levitation (kicking off this week) by catching up with La Femme, plus we learned how to make a sweet acai bowl with Ribbon Stage. Dropped a few brand new tunes from folks like The Living Pins and Elizabeth, plus through out some encouraging album streams from Melby, Twain and more. This is a great way to catch up on all those tunes we ran, and maybe jump back in time and look at our interviews. Or, just turn it up and rock it out, cuz you know, Monday.

Anthemic Rocker From Vistas

Edinburgh based band Vistas have long been well known on our site for making solid indie rock tunes with slight pop inspiration and hints of garage rock. Today I am pleased to drop the Scots latest single “Follow You Down” which features heavier, distorted guitars and a crazy catchy chorus to boot. Sort of reminds you of early Vaccines work or the more pop stylings of Kaiser Chiefs. It’s a jam.

Vistas will release a new EP entitled Beautiful Nothing in January 2023.

Upbeat Number From Vistas

As the long quarantine continues, I’m willing to bet that some of you may begin finding yourself in a less than ideal mood at times. We’ve all been there right? Well luckily we have some help from our friends in the Edinburgh based band Vistas with their upbeat new single “15 Years”. This song is a straight up engaging mixture of New York rockers like The Strokes blended perfectly with a more pop rock, anthemic sound. The video below is also a special one as it features home footage of the band’s many fans lip syncing to the song during this extended time in lockdown. What was originally planed for filming in Austin during SXSW has actually turned into something truly special and unique after the festival cancellation. It should hit you in all the feels. And hey we interviewed them before SXSW!

Vistas will release their debut album Everything Changes in the End on May 29th via Believe.
