ACL 2019 Festival Updates
Are you attending? Are you dreading the heat? It will be a dry heat. Like that helps…
While we aren’t as excited about the lineup this year versus last, my fest schedule is still full with either artists I want to see and shoot. That means staying hydrated while staying in motion and as you are making the stage to stage pilgrimages, there are some news bits that ACL sent out that you should pay attention to. Click through for the full skinny and a bag policy cheat sheet, but here a few highlights.
HI, HOW ARE YOU LOUNGE: Jumping on the Daniel Johnston thing for a good reason, there’ll be a lounge area to decompress and here about the Hi, How Are You Project.
BONUS TRACKS STAGE: I am going to call this the podcast stage. Lookup the schedule for interviews and discussion panels.
BEER HALL BITES: Two-for-One zone, now, get a beer and snack. Pretzels and beer cheese, carb up and protein intake, perfect.
MORE ENTRY LANES: Ramping up flow in, but y’all think hard about bringing a bag. Load up your pockets. Make one person that is reliable carry through the gear and buy them beers (and water).
HI, HOW ARE YOU LOUNGE: We are pleased to honor the life of Austins own Daniel Johnston, the singer-songwriter and visual artist who painted Austins famous Hi, How Are You frog mural, with the Hi, How Are You Lounge at ACL Cares. The Hi, How Are You Project inspires conversations around mental health and provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and education on mental well-being. Stop by the new lounge to enjoy shade, seating, and friendly conversation!
BONUS TRACKS STAGE: In between catching your favorite musical performances, you can enjoy one-on-one conversations with Andrew Knowlton and special guests, podcast recordings, interactive wellness events, and more from our friends at Bon Apptit, goop, NPR Music, KUTX, Outdoor Voices, and select ACL Cares organizations. For more information about what you can see and do at the Bonus Tracks Stage, check out the schedule here.
MERCH POP-UP STORE: Shop for official ACL Festival merchandise outside the gates at our pop-up shop, located at Native Hostel (807 E 4th Street)! In conjunction with our Pre-Festival Box Office, the pop-up shop will feature our top sellers including lineup tees, posters, hats and more. Shop early for the best selection. The shop will be open Oct 2-3 from 12pm-7pm and Oct 7-10 from 12pm-7pm.
BEER HALL BITES: This year weve partnered with Austins iconic Scholz Garten to offer food in the Beer Hall! Well also have food & beer pairings with beverages from Karbach Brewing. Established in 1866, Scholz Garten is the oldest restaurant, bar and live music venue in the state of Texas.
REUSABLE CUPS: This year well be selling ACL Fest reusable cups at the Barton Springs Beer Hall! Stop by to grab one of these commemorative items.
MORE ENTRY LANES: We want to get you to the music faster, so weve added more screening lanes and expanded all entrances! As always, be sure you know whats allowed & prohibited before you get to the gates, and leave the bag at home to take advantage of our No Bag Express Lanes. While reusable water bottles must be empty before coming in, we advise fans to drink water prior to going through security and while in line.
T-MOBILE CHARGING STATIONS: The Un-carrier has fans covered at ACL Fest with Club Magenta behind the T-Mobile stage featuring phone charging, games, a private bar and more perks in this shaded lounge so hurry over because space will be limited! Plus, charge up throughout the festival grounds for free using the T-Mobile charging lockers.
