About Last Monday: ATH vs SOTO

I had my SXSW cut short by the day job and related travel. That meant our fine readers would have to wait briefly to check out all of the eye candy from the annual day party held with Side One Track One at Hotel Vegas. I have a big gallery of glorious images and a few thoughts on the day.

We are a phtogenic bunch. Trusty Alpha+55/1.8 and Lumix DMC-TS3 provided the visual vibes.

bgray’s Best Bands:
It is hard to pick favorites when chasing stages constantly. Grocery Bag, certainly left an impression and will force any band that has to follow them work harder. Hikes was complicated and necessary. Interplay between guitarists, lyrics and tempo yielded a captivating and unique tone. Living Set just dropped a new song, check it.

bgray’s Thoughts:
All the friendly faces, we had tender moments and big jams. Daphne Tunes sharing songs about new family, Grocery Bag sharing songs of disconnecting from people, Dossey shared a middle finger to all of the news burning a hole into our eyes. Anyway, up and down vibes, old firends, new songs. Can’t be mad about any of it. We got in a little bonus coverage of Shannon Shaw Band, lovely soundtrack to make an exit. CYA SXSW.
