The Foreign Resort is Outnumbered

Looking back at SxSW 2018, given this year’s conference is six weeks away (yikes), seeing The Foreign Resort was among the oddest things. Totally random lineup that night on a horrible “stage” in a terrible venue that hopefully will not be used again this year. …but their set was bad ass.

They’ve released the first confirmation that their perfect post-punk formula will be applied on the pending record due April 5th via Artoffact Records. The title track “Outnumbered” is embedded below. As a bonus, you can check out a remix of “Under Bright Neon Stars” by our friends Nite here.

Catching Up With The Foreign Resort

One of my highlights from SxSW in 2016 was seeing The Foreign Resort. The trio from Copenhagen played to a mostly empty room in a venue with a terrible location on St Patrick’s Day. Didn’t matter, they sounded great and played my hits. These guys are an aggressive collision of synth pop and post punk, new wave, dark wave and no wave, and I love it.

“She Is Lost” is the first single from the upcoming LP. No info on the new record other than #soon. If you are North of the Border, eh, go check them out during their Canadian tour starting tomorrow in Toronto.

I Dig This Foreign Resort Track

foriegn resortThe Foreign Resort has been on my radar for a bit now, and regrettably, I missed the initial PR about this track last week. Thankfully, the band is announcing a quick US tour (no Austin date, sniffles) kicking off next week in the Boston area to get this song in my earholes. Some tracks form the Danes have been a little synthier, some a little darker, but this is a loving mix of organic, synth and noise into a perfect post-punk new wave sound that is in my wheelhouse. Vocals effectively buried and then up front and emo, I dig it.

The EP The American Dream lands via Moon Sounds Records on October 15th.
