ACL Fun Times! (10/1 – 10/3)

So you’re one of those brave souls who just can’t get enough of the heat and music during the day at ACL and you want more?  Or maybe you’re just one of those types who skip the festival alltogether and make it out to after parties and after shows?  Regardless of what category you fit into, here’s a couple choices for each night of ACL for things to do after the festival activities wind down.  We’re keeping it to just two options a night so as to not overwhelm you.  Follow the jump for da parties.

For Starters if you’re looking for official shows, go here and check out the schedule.  We figured you knew about those already.  Some shows are not sold out yet.

Thursday:

#1. Look at that fancy poster!  Art Disaster #9 is tonight at Beauty Bar!  Things start at 8pm with an open bar sponsored by Three Olives Vodka from 8:30-till that stuff runs out!  Tickets are $3 with an RSVP here.  Lineup is stacked with DJ Tweedy, Lemurs, The Steps, Speak, Wallpaper, DJ Orion, Bright Light Social Hour, The White White Lights, The Authors and Whitman.  Damn!

#2 Option numero dos is another local show at La Zona Rosa featuring Moth Fight!, One Hundred Flowers, The Sour Notes and No Mas Bodas.  Doors are at 8pm and tickets are $8 at the venue.

Friday:

#1 Several locals like Ultra 8201 & Learning Sercets teamed up for another after party at Beauty Bar tonight.  Bands include Voxtrot & Survive with DJ sets by Loyaute Soundsystem (members of Phoenix) & Ian Orth.  Show is only $5 with an RSVP here.

#2 First shows at the old Seaholm Power Plant presented by WOXY and Rare magazine!  This one is totally free and features Canadian supergroup Broken Social Scene along with Generationals and Corto Maltese.  This one is FREE with an RSVP here and doors open at 8pm.  The Seaholm website has more info about wristband pickup and some advice on the show.  Sounds really cool but it may not be worth the trouble…

Saturday:

 #1 NASA & VEGA @ Mohawk sponsored by Hornitos.  This should be a fun option for Saturday night because it’s FREE with RSVP here and the Mohawk is always a fun place to chill out after a long day in the sun.  I’m sure if you want to dance, that can also be arranged… This one starts at 8pm

#2 DJ Party @ the new looking Club Mixx with dance party sets by Kids at the Bar, DJ Davinci, DJ Czech One, DJ Scorpio, DJ Billy Q, DJ Dey One, and Vice Device.  This one is only $5 and starts at 9pm.  Free Titos Vodka will be the highlight of the night.
