New Music from Horse Thief

I’ve got a soft spot for Horse Thief.  They’re a Texas band that moved to Oklahoma (where I went to college) to attend The School of Contemporary Music, where a few of our friends teach.  I can’t say whether or not any of those friends influenced what’s on this record, but regardless, I’m enjoying the finished product.  It lays somewhere in the realm of light-hearted indie rock, but there’s creativity in the various layering placed atop the track, be it shakers or piano or guitar work. Their album Fear In Bliss will be released by Bella Union on April 14th; it should definitely be something on your radar.
