Slightly Late To The Party: Willie J Healey

Willie J Healey is an Oxford based musician who is currently making what his Facebook page calls “Rock ‘n ‘stroll,” which I’m interpreting as a kind of low-key surf rock style. “HD Malibu,” the track for you below, shows this genre with a little bit of a bluesy spin on the surf sound of thing. The vocals are a large part of the track, Healey showing off his dulcet pipes atop the jangly guitar and percussion. I’m digging this track, and I look forward to hearing the rest of the HD Malibu EP, which is coming May 11th.
