ACL Artist Spotlight: Leon Bridges

So that time of the year is fast approaching here in Austin: ACL season! With this slight break in the blistering heat I’ve been dreaming of our near future frolicking in field of Zilker Park and it’s only good and proper that we begin our pre-fest coverage now so you’re adequately prepared to bounce around from stage to stage with your well tuned and highlighted game plan. Schedule conflicts be damned, we’re here to help you make the most of your weekend(s), and that starts with Leon Bridges.

You may have heard this name in passing, or perhaps you’ve given a song or two a listen, but this is only the beginning of your love affair with Leon. Recently the man released his sensational debut album, Coming Home, which has garnered praise from all directions for its nostalgic gospel sound. This sound found on the album is doubled up in the live setting, as Bridges dons a classic suit and brings a full band to back his silky smooth vocals. In the still sweltering heat of the beginning of October, Leon will be comfortably grooving through his 4:00pm set on the Honda Stage, with his Fort Worth roots to aid him in the heat of the day. So get your highlighter out, circle this set on your schedule, pencil in this date with Leon, and get ready to grab a beer and cool off with his refreshing tunes.
