If you’re looking for a rad power pop tune to crank up in your stereo, might we guide you to the latest track from Santa Cruz outfit, AUTOS. At the moment, they’re wrapping up the finishing touches on a new EP, but are tossing out a staggering smash to keep your eyes on the prize here. When the tune kicks off, it almost teases retreading garage rock, only to stutter and bring in a bit more of a pop swagger, snapping with drum hits and riffs that are begging to be freed. There’s a certain point where they can take it no more and let loose with the expected swagger that keeps the tune cool! Well folks, I’m back in the game full time, teaching, coaching and all that jazz. So, I didn’t hit my previous mark of nearly 30 songs in a week. But, we still had some really great stuff on the site, so it’s organized below in its usual playlist fashion. We gave a shout out to some great records by Fake Fruit, Chime School, Hits and more (and yes, I missed Wut and the Softies). Oh, and new jams from UV-TV and High Water Marks closed out the week, so I guess you could say, it was a pretty good time!
Today is one of those rare days when it is literally raining with new releases, and oddly, many of them are coming from the San Fran/Oakland area. Alas, you don’t really need to hear about my feelings on all these, just know that if they’re on this site, they’re definitely on my list of things to jam out to today. Crank em’ up and be sure to support the artists and labels!
