This is fine.
At first, I was looking forward to an outdoor show at Mohawk in January. Then the forecast kept getting colder and colder. I wasn’t worried as being near the stage for pics meant carry over heat from the pit. Instead, promoters moved the show to Red7. The openers had issues, the speakers were giving up, but No Age killed. Follow the jump for more.
What was supposed to be a small gig on a Wednesday night at Emo’s Inside sold enough tickets to warrant a move outside. Tame Impala with Stardeath and White Dwarfs and Kuroma was going to be out in the cold. I, for one, was happy with the move thinking the show wouldn’t be terribly crowded, but I was wrong. The rain stayed just east of the downtown, lightning flashing in the cloud line. Everyone was a little nervous about the weather. In fact, security joked that the show was cancelled. Maybe just kidding, but with lightning in the area, I would guess Stubb’s would have to shut down. Good thing the show went on, it was well worth the price of admission and brief delay. The Parish played host to Film School’s fifth stop on their tour in support of the album Fission. Austin’s TV Torso and Monahans were brought in to open.
