Grand Drifter Shares Fresh Pop Hit
You should usually consider the work of the folks at Subjangle to be something charming, which is most certainly the case when it comes to this new single from Italy’s Grand Drifter. One will find an instantly saccharine light jangle in the guitar work, something you might consider akin to early Kings of Convenience. What I love about this track, however, is that there are all these little light flourishes that continue to flesh out the sound as a whole, making it feel like the perfect piece for a sunny day. Listen carefully for little bits of horn and string accompaniment, adding further depth that allows Andrea Calvo to drape his subtle vocals across. Expect Paradise Window to hit this September!

When you wake up in a mood, sometimes its best to sink right into that space, like I did when I found this Tetsu the Phoenix track this morning. Surely, the walls of distortion will create the shoegaze pigeonhole, but I’d like you sit and peel those layers back, revealing a really gentle ballad. There’s something soothing in the longing nature of the chorus, providing this sentiment that has you going back through your mind, reflecting on the various paths you’ve traversed recently. That said, I like the flows in and out of the gaze elements, providing a nice bit of texture to a fairly calm center. Look forward to hearing more from the band; this tune brought to you courtesy of 
It was a pretty busy week around these parts, though on a personal level, the next two weeks are going to be a bit of a shit show. So, it was good to settle into that ride with some great new jams. New music from Colored Lights and Lola Tried got me super excited, so we’re kicking off last week’s jams right there. B. I probably played it safe and close to home with new songs from Snooper, Swansea Sound and Film School, among a bunch of others.
