Life Strike Share Downwinders Video
When we first heard this track from Life Strike, I marveled out how the band managed to take on the subject matter of post-nuclear fallout and make it something you wanted to cheer on from the sidelines; I still feel that way, but now there’s this powerful visual to go with the bursting energy of the tune. The coloring of the video alone provides this really impactful image, especially as the colors bleed out, as one would expect from a nuclear explosion. As I watched through, I also started to hear more thunder than jangle in the music, giving the band a heavier sound than what I initially thought, so be ready to sit back and relish in both the music and visuals. The band release Peak Dystopia via Bobo Integral/Stable Label on July 14th.
For all the creativity that is being pushed out in the indie scene nowadays, I do really miss the wittier bits of pop that you’d get from wordsmiths like a David Berman, weaving mundane existence into catchy tracks that bounce in your head…just like 
Summer keeps on rolling right along like the hellfire that is Texas, and the song’s just keep hitting that sweet spot. Had some old acts make a return this past week with Devendra Banhart and Sigur Ros making the cut, but also excited to see old ATH Records act Being Dead with their banging new single. Along the way we had some hits from Night Beats, Dippers, Kindsight and Sonny & the Sunsets…to name but a few of the bands we can’t seem to stop covering on our end.
