I’m Gonna Give You Sick Dream Pop Songs Forever

11160558_10152930443137901_1224138747109527915_nChances are, if a track is dreamy enough, or even slightly on the dream pop spectrum, I’m going to share it with you. Today’s delightfully lush track comes from Seattle’s Hibou, whom we haven’t heard from since some tunes surfaced back in 2013. Hibou is the project of former Craft Spells drummer, Peter Michael, and he’s just announced that his debut self titled LP will be out September 18th. Take a listen to what’s apparently the opening track to this album below, and let the layers of sleek guitars, fuzzy drums, and drowning in reverb vocals wash over you in a dream pop, well, dream.

Oscar Keeps On Keepin’ On

11406332_984848138191985_633096535453456620_oAs we approach the June 23rd release date of Oscar‘s debut EP, Beautiful Words, more tracks have surfaced from that forthcoming album. I’ve shared with you two of these songs already, but why not give you a chance to fall in love with this Londoner one more time with this latest track, “Stay.” This song still features the same deep-set and rich vocals from the gentleman, but it also is more rooted and almost hinges on a semi-du wop base. It’s a simple little pop track, but also still a pretty good example as to why you need to keep Oscar on your radar: he can do playful indie rock like “Daffodil Days,” but also has a softer pop side that we hear here.

Dance Along To This Sweet Seoul Jam

1399043_426980044073991_1234408907_oWith things heating up around town, it’s always nice to find some good tunes that will put a little shimmy in your day and today that source of shimmy comes from Montreal’s Seoul. This lush and dreamy track, “Real June,”  has all the qualities of a new-wave/dream pop power combo track. The synths seem endless through the song, bringing a constant presence that coats everything in a cool warmth while the guitars jangle along gracefully. Then there are the vocals, which soar above it all, and when those “oohs” stream through your speakers you can’t help but groove along. I Become A Shade, their debut LP, is out June 9th via Grand Jury.

Summer Ready Indie Rock With Fairchild

10355466_10152098856656481_7703080231071621345_oSometimes, you just need a straight up indie rock jam to blast at full volume with a catchy chorus and crisp guitar licks to boot. Fairchild has got you covered on this base with “Nom De Guerre, ” which has a Foals-esque vibe to it; the guitars provide the essence of the groove, while the vocals are fairly mild. The electronic elements add a nice layer to the tune, cutting in and out with bursts of synths here and there. All in all, it’s a fine summer jam, so turn it up and get with it.

Psychedelic Rock From Glasgow’s Trembling Bells

tremblingbellsPsychedelic? Rock? From Glasgow? Yup, you read it right and I was as pleasantly surprised as you are about to be. Trembling Bells are a five piece from the musical hub of Glasgow, but instead of the indie pop you’d expect from the Scottish city, they make funky psychedelic rock music. This track, “Killing Time In London Fields,” is taken from their newest and fifth LP, The Sovereign Self, which is set to be released through Tin Angel Records on June 30th. It’s a nice little blend of psych rock with folksier elements like the organ sounds throughout, but the lo fi production and vocals push it on the more psych side of things.

Camera Shy Give You Slighty Hazy Dream Pop

unnamedCamera Shy is comprised of Nick Bassett and Alexandra Morte, both of which you may know from Whirr. Together, they’ve joined forces to put their effort into this new dream pop project, which is filled with bright and clean guitar hooks and the vocals of Morte that are just a touch haze to them to give the sound a bit of depth. The track below, “Colors Radiate,” is the perfect example of a sunny dream pop song, but at the same time it’s not overdone or cliched. On the contrary, this brief track will have you swooning over the simplicity and lushness from such a straightforward pop song. Camera Shy‘s debut self titled LP is out July 14th via Run For Cover Records. Preorder it here.

Growing Indie Pop From Anthonie Tonnon

aton

Anthonie Tonnon is a gentleman and band from Auckland, New Zealand who makes indie rock music. This song, “Railway Lines,” is more of a steady long distance jog rather than a sprint in that it focuses more on the story that the lyrics tell and the instrumentation takes heed from this. That’s not to say the instrumentation isn’t good, on the contrary, the electric guitar riffs that underline the whole song are crisp, while the synth elements provide a bit of a groove to push you through the rest of the track. Successor is their latest effort, which you can check out over here.

Smooth Pop From Kins

11212596_1006431772725121_5736078087691073463_o (1)There’s a chance that you may already have heard about Kins from the UK but this new single they’ve shared is a delight, so bear with me. What I like about this track is that the falsetto vocals provide the perfect compliment to the fuzzy guitars. “Young” is an off-and-on blend of garage rock and then electro-pop that will make you nod along and maybe throw in a little shimmy and shake. This track is from an upcoming EP from these lads called Cyclical, which is out July 6th.

Indie Rock With Blues Roots From Marrow

unnamed (1)Marrow are a four piece from Chicago who have recently been branching beyond their hometown and gaining traction in the indie-sphere. When you listen to this song, “The Gold Standard,” you’ll see why that is. The band begins with the delicate dual male/female vocals and some meandering guitar, and then brings up the energy for a track that is half simmering indie rock and then all out alternative jam with folksy/bluesy roots. Give it a listen or two.
