Pale Blue Eyes Share Spaces

Totnes, UK based Pale Blue Eyes really hit a chord with me over the last year with a string of singles showcasing a band who really know what it means to be indie pop. As if all the other tunes I’ve shared weren’t enough reason to love this band, here is yet another gem from them with this indie pop banger called “Spaces.” For this band, it just almost seems effortless at this point for them to pump out this poppy, twee hits and I am here for it.

This track is part of the band’s new album entitled This House which is due out September 1st via Full Time Hobby. Pre-orders are live now.

Lovely New Tune From English Teacher

While Leeds United languish in The Championship this year, locals have to find a way to stay in good spirits and put a positive spin on things. While I honestly have no clue if the Leeds based outfit English Teacher follow the football club, their new song, “The World’s Biggest Paving Slab,” has offered me a beacon of hope for the area. It displays a level of brightness and light paired with just a few touches of edge here and there to really keep in tune with that Leeds’ spirit. Come on lads.

This new track is out now via the band’s new label Island Records.

Get Moving With Freedom Fry

The French-American married duo Freedom Fry has long been on our radar for their danceable, indie pop gems. While pumping out tons of hits and seeing songs placed in multiple hit shows and movies, the group also released a stunning EP entitled La Soire. Now trying to close out the summer with a potential song of the season jam, Freedom Fry just released the new single “YOLO” earlier this morning. If you weren’t up and on your feet already, this jam is sure to get you moving along to the beat.

Check Out Another Advertisement Tune

My pals in Advertisement are really having a strong resurgence here in late summer as they are dropping serious heat with some new singles. Already having shared the straight rocker “Victory,” the band returns today with a song more on the downtrodden side with “Nobody’s Cop.” You’ll find a more mellow approach paired with some alt-country and sort of Southern rock inspiration from the Seattle based band. Pre-orders for Advertisement’s new album Escorts are live now from Feel It Records.

Get Hip To Uni Boys

As we sometimes get the label as the dudes who post nothing but sad bastard tunes, it’s refreshing when we can get a nice dose of indie rock for a Monday morning. Today my lil nugget of indie rock delight comes by way of this track “I Want it Too” from the Los Angeles based outfit Uni Boys. It blends just enough pop tones with some straight classic, jangly rock guitars to offer one heck of a catchy tune. Let it brighten your Monday mood.

Uni Boys will release this track as part of a new album entitled Buy This Now! which is due out on October 13th via Curation Records.

Stream Debut LP From dreamatx

Nikolas Das is a Dallas, TX based musician who, for a time, made music with the criminally underrated shoegaze band Kraus. Recently Das stepped out on his own, holed up in the Woodstock area of upstate New York, and recorded a whole bunch of new tunes under the moniker dreamatx. Many of those new jams have been compiled into a 10 song LP entitled living in memory of something sweet which you can stream in it’s entirety below. Be ready for some heavy noise rock, with emotional and raw vocals as if Nothing made a band with members of Frou Frou. If you’re into it, physical copies are available for purchase from Memorials of Distinction.

Double A-Side From Teenage Halloween

Teenage Halloween is a band that caught my attention during SXSW with their total raw energy and passion during short 30-40 minute festival sets. Since March I’ve been jamming the bands raucous self-titled debut LP and eagerly anticipating some new tunes. Today my patience has paid off with not one, but two new songs from the band as part of a double A-side release and preview of an upcoming full length follow up. If you are not yet acquainted with the band, get ready for some serious, fun as hell, power pop themed punk tunes. GO!

Teenage Halloween will release their sophomore LP entitled Till You Return on October 20th via Don Giovanni Records. Pre-orders are live now.

Check Out 300 Miles From Mirror Tree

Los Angeles based artist Michael Gold writes and creates music under the moniker Mirror Tree and I am here to fully push his new project. Just today, this new single “300 Miles” hit the ground and features this intricate interplay of sounds ranging from psych, to indie pop to traditional Bengali folk. With such a blend of styles, one might expect the song to fall apart, but it does the opposite as it melds everything into a lovely pop number. Seeing the joy on Gold’s face in the video should also draw you into the song and it’s vibes.

Mirror Tree will be releasing this song as part of a debut LP due out on September 8th via Innovative Leisure. Pre-orders are live now.

Stream A New LP From Bedroom Eyes

While you’re looking for more tunes to enjoy this weekend, might I suggest this new, 9 song, full length album from Boston based group Bedroom Eyes. Having honed their craft for over 10 years now, new album Turned Away, shows a band leaning heavily into the noise of shoegaze with driving bass lines and rapidly paced drum beats. This is well worth a weekend listen. If you’re into it, consider a purchase over on bandcamp for either streaming or physical consumption.
