Our friends over at Party Ends have a sweet show planned for Saturday night at Club de Ville here in Austin. The all local lineup includes up and comers LA Snacks, Deleted Scenes, Loxsly and a DJ set by John Gross. Show starts at 9pm. This should be a cheap way to get your live music fix on an otherwise boring Saturday night.

White Rabbits, creators of one of our favorite songs of the year, just recorded a Woxy lounge session which is now posted over on the Futurist. The in-studio performance features 4 songs including a rousing rendition of that sweet jam “Percussion Gun”. Now is also a good time to mention that the band will be making a stop at Emo’s in Austin this Sunday night. Tickets for that show are on sale now for only $10.

Indie-pop craftsman Sean Bones has a sweet new single that’s hitting the internet like wildfire today. The new jam is called “Dancehall” and will appear on upcoming album Rings due out July 21st via Frenchkiss Records. It’s a tasty little pop tune that should kick off your summer right.

Emo’s has a solid lineup of local acts ready and rarin’ to go for a night of rock on Friday. Acts include heavy rockers Lions, Ume and The Record Hop. No tickets will be sold online so bring $7 if you’re of age and $10 if you’re under. Here’s that Ume song everyone is talking about around town called “The Conductor”.

Sex crazed pop musician Peaches is making a stop at Emo’s in Austin on Thursday night. Tour support Drums of Death should combine nicely with the headliners to make this a night of crazy drunken dancing and singing. Tickets are still available to purchase, but I wouldn’t plan on buying one at the door. Music starts at 10pm. Don’t miss this one!

The nice folks at NPR are streaming the brand new Sunset Rubdown record Dragonslayer in its entirey. We’ve been pretty pumped about this release so let’s hope it doesn’t dissapoint. Head over to NPR to check it out now. Anyone want to offer some first opinions?
If you’re looking for a sweet dance party on a Wednesday night, head out to Beauty Bar to wet your appetite. The lineup for the event features beat makers Golden Filter, ATH favorites VEGA, Harlovve, and locals Learning Secrets. I’d recommend getting there early as this one is sure to fill up quick. Doors for the show are at 9pm with entrance costing $5.

Hip clothing company Urban Outfitters are offering up a free 23 song sampler filled with some of the best acts from this year. Crazy good track listing features singles and previously unreleased material from Phoenix, Delta Spirit, Grizzly Bear, St. Vincent and tons more great artists. Canadian quasi-super group Clues are playing at the recently opened Independent in Austin on Wednesday night. Not sure what C3 is up to, but it looks like they are maybe trying to nab some big indie acts at their new mid-sized venue. If you want a preview of the show, check out a recent review we did of the band’s self-titled album. Doors for the show are at 8pm. Tickets are pretty cheap at $10.

One of our top new bands from last year, Little Joy, are returning to Austin for another show this Monday. The evenings event will be going down at the brand new Independent Austin (map) over on the east side. Tickets are still on sale now for $16.50. Unfortunately it looks like founding member Fabrizio Moretti will not be joining the band on this tour as he is currently recording the new Strokes record. Bummer. Should still be a good time if your Monday is looking bleak.
