Dave Monks of Canadian pop-punk outfit Tokyo Police Club recently did an acoustic set for the Interface on AOL. The solo performance features four tracks from the very surprising 2008 album Elephant Shell from Mr. Monks band. Watch the video and download the live songs for free.
The Dolphin music website has a list of the top 100 music oriented blogs in the US & A. You may see some fan favorites like stereogum, gorilla vs. bear and even local favorite Sonic Itch! Unfortunately for the world, Austin Town Hall didn’t make the list… Maybe next year. Wired as #1? Really!?!
Radiohead has announced that they will be webcasting the last show of their American tour in Santa Barbara. I’m sure most of you have seen Radiohead live (and if you haven’t here’s your chance), so this is a must see. Visit the official Radiohead site for more details.
Punk rockers, Alkaline Trio, recently did a live performance for The Interface on AOL featuring backing guitar/vocals from Tegan Quin of Tegan & Sara. You can download the 4 song set via mp3 or watch the live videos as well. I think Tegan should be a permanent addition to the band.
Everyone’s favorite indie princess Jenny Lewis, has a new song called “Acid Tongue” streaming on the NPR website. The song will appear on an album of the same name due out on Sep. 23rd of this year. The album is said to feature a wide array of talented folks like Zooey Deschanel, Elvis Costello, & Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes just to name a few. Enjoy.

TV on the Radio have a new song called “Golden Age” streaming on their website. This new song will appear on the band’s latest album Dear Science due out Sep. 23rd. Will this see the band continuing the huge success of their 2006 release Return to Cookie Mountain? We’ll let you be the judge.
The official Fun Fun Fun Fest lineup is finally here! Check it out and start making your evaluations. Tickets are not on sale yet, but will be going up a bit to $59.99 this year. That’s still pretty dang low for what ya get.
The nice people over at RCRD LBL have a new song from Dallas band Secret Machines for you to stream/download on their website. The song is called “Dreaming of Dreaming” and will apparently NOT appear on the bands latest self-titled release due out in October. You can hear the song exclusively on the RCRD LBL website (they strongly discourage re-hosting songs). Is this better than the very underwhelming 2006 effort Ten Silver Drops?
