Color Palette Release Nights Alone
If you find Mondays, or every day at this point, a struggle, then you’re going to enjoy this Color Palette tune getting under your skin. It’ll hit you almost instantly, in a similar fashion to what you’d find on a recent Black Marble or Ducks Ltd. record. There’s certainly some post-punk energy, particularly in the way some of the guitars hit sharp notes and intertwine with this driving rhythm section. The infectious nature of the track swirls around with the cooled vocal flavoring giving a nice little dark coat to match the underlying melody of what’s pumping through your speakers. Good place to start the week with new tunes!

Okay, so we might have gone a bit overboard somehow. It was just one of those weeks where there were hits everywhere you turned. Austin popped up a ton on our end, with new stuff from Stella and the Very Messed, Whalers, Gus Baldwin, Thanks Light…and some retroactive love for Drunk Uncle and Little Mazarn. Fortitude Valley and the Beths battled it out on the site for pop rock supremacy, but you get to make the call which you love the most. Tons of great records were about too, with new stuff from Jeanines, Ryli, Tom Henry and more. The IT Department popped in with a reminder of Cut Copy‘s new album…plus a touch up on some other great jams from Mac DeMarco to Emily Hines…there’s a little bit in here for you all!
Cliche as it may be, when it rains, it pours, and the musical gods have been kind to us, pouring down with great records to run with today. Slumberland and Skep Wax teamed up to drop us a couple of gems, while there are some more under the radar records I’d love for you spend time with, like Ryli, Tom Henry and Gelli Haha. There’s a few words on each hanging below.
