I wanted to share the new track from Emelia Austin‘s forthcoming solo record as it feels like how Friday’s start. It’s got a heavy opening, just like the weight of the world is keeping you in bed. But, you climb out, jump in the shower, just as the drum beat begins to slowly trickle in with Austin’s vocals. You’re dressed and out the door while the guitars begin to build in some fuzzy riffs, showing a little bit of promise on your day. Your day and the song both trudge on continuously, pushing forward towards the weekend, or just towards the end of your day. A little calm comes in the afternoon, or in the tune’s middling moments, though it slowly builds, seemingly pushing the noise towards the end of the track, when suddenly it stops and your back in bed again.
