New Dreamy Pop From Ash Reiter

It seems like ages ago that up and coming pop songstress Ash Reiter was here in Austin playing our SXSW garage party. We honestly haven’t heard much from the band since then, which is oh so sad, but imagine our joy when we got sent this new jam “I’ve Got Something I Can Laugh About”. It’s a heartwarming tune that’s reminding me why we booked the band to play that show a few years ago. It’s dreamy and sunny, all the while being a nice breath of fresh air in the ATH offices.

A new LP entitled HOLA is coming out November 30th on 20 Sided Records.

ATH & Songsinc Party @ Empire Garage/Side Bar (3/17)

Today we are pleased to announce our 3rd annual unofficial SXSW show during the madness of the festival next week. This year we decided to go with a night show as opposed to a day show since many of you have voiced complaints about not enough good music to see at night. Well here you are people, we have partnered with our friends over at Songsinc to bring you a show at Empire Garage (next door to Side Bar). Deets are as follow:

– Thursday March 18th

– Location: Empire Garage

– Doors: 7pm/Music 8pm

This show is totally free and open to the public with no RSVP, wristband, badge or other B.S. needed to get in. Just come out and have a good time while listening to some great music at one of the best bars in Austin. You’d probably be at Side Bar anyway right? The two places are connected so come on over and say hi. We’re also very pleased to have Floyd’s Barbershop, Dangerbird Records, and Sweetish Hill Bakery on board to help put on this event. SXSW Watchlist: Ash Reiter

SXSW is barreling down on us and most of us in the music industry are really beginning to feel the heat of the impending crazy week. At times like these, I like to be a bit sappy and remind myself that this is really all about the music and discovering new artists. Speaking of new artists, I was recently put in touch with the incredible music of San Francisco based band Ash Reiter. Many of you know I have a weak spot in my soul for quality female singers, and on first listen, you’ll surely encounter why I’ve been soaking this artist up as of late. Reiter’s music is based around simple pop melodies, but it’s made unique with a killer voice that’s subtle yet piercing. The song we’ve got bellow “Paper Diamonds” appeared on the debut LP of same name from Ash Reiter which hit stores last spring. A sophomore debut is already in the works with an eye on late spring for a release. Not much info is out there yet for SXSW shows, but stay tuned here and to Ash Reiter’s myspace page for her dates & times during the week.
