Friend of the program, Orthy, just added a sweet track we have been digging as part of their live sets for a while now to his soundcloud. The track “E.M.I.L.Y.” is a sweet little builder with the sensibilites we have come to love from Ian and the boys.

Johnny Jewel – After Dark Remaster

Just in time for your ACL afterparty…

Johnny Jewel, best known as part of Chromatics and half of Glass Candy has remastered and offered for download an hour and seventeen minute long mix from five years ago called “After Dark” (“After Dark 2” is forthcoming). Previously a merch table extra, it features tracks from all flavors of collaborations and label projects from Mr. Jewel including aforementioned Glass Candy and Chromatics as well as Mirage, Professor Genius and Farah.

More New Letting Up Despite Great Faults

Letting Up Despite Great Faults has offered up another track off their pending release Untogether.

It is pretty obvious that the band has been listening to and influenced by a few of my favorite things. Floating vocals, percussive synth, this is one pretty sweet electro jam. I am really excited by this release and expect to hear a bit more on it soon. LUDGF have a few shows pending, 10/12 at Frontier, a couple CMJ dates and then back to town for a 10/29 show at The Mohawk before hitting Japan. Maybe they will take me along to document the Japan shows. #probablynot

I Like This Song By Errors

You may have noticed that I am randomly sharing songs. This one by Errors was added to my playlist of tunes that are regularly cranked at the Gray Manor a couple weeks ago.

This gem, “Pleasure Palaces”, is from Have Some Faith In Magic with a mini-LP called New Relics landing in mid-October. They’re opening set for Mogwai was excellent. Currently on the road in the UK, Errors will play Red7 11/13 opening for The Twilight Sad and I will be there.

This is a gem. If M83’s tour bus hit “a” Caribou. If Chill Wave weren’t so Chill.

Blackbird Blackbird has upped this track to the internet, a track called “All”, and I love it. It gets the played-twice-in-a-row award. It gets the instant add to the evening playlist. Drawn vocal, drifting backgrounds of plinks and drops, a guitarish hook running, instrumental finish – can’t wait for the EP. Lavish Habits will release the Boracay Planet EP 10/16.

The new album comes out in November. They will play ACL on Sunday at 7:30pm.

Crystal Castles has released this diddy to the internets. It is one of those sweeping gothic things they do with a nice backdrop of danceable electro. Download link in the embed, dig it.

Expect the Honda stage to be packed with your friends as I think they are up against Randy Rogers and Childish Gambino.

New Stuff From Teen Daze

One album I have been really enjoying on calm mornings or post show is Teen Daze‘s All of Us Together. It blends a lot of what I loved from my electronic roots with a simplicity that is hard to do, atmospheric backgrounds with rising and falling activity keeping your mind engaged. Reminding a bit of Cosmic Baby redone by Tycho. It will likely end up on the my best of the year list strictly based on the number of plays.

Teen Daze will release another LP this year, November 6th, called The Inner Mansions. You can preorder it here on Lefse Records. To get you clicking, here is the track “Spirit” just made available on Soundcloud. Also check out “Garden 2″ if you want the mellow side.

New Dance Pop From Clubfeet

Here’s a little sunny pop number called “Heartbreak” coming your way from dance group Clubfeet.  It seems odd that we haven’t posted about the band before seeing as how they’ve definitely made it onto some ATH dance party playlists.  I guess it’s never too late to give a band their due.  This streaming track will appear on the band’s new album Heirs & Graces due out January 22nd on Plant Music/Illusive.
